1. When does the federal Government Battery Rebate start?
The rebate begins on 1 July 2025 under the Federal Government’s Cheaper Home Batteries Program.
2. How much can I save on a home battery?
The rebate covers around 30% of the cost, capped per usable kWh. That’s roughly $4,000 off a 10–13 kWh battery.
3. Who is eligible for the rebate?
Households and small businesses with an eligible CEC-approved battery system installed by a CEC-accredited installer. Both homes with existing solar and new solar + battery setups can qualify.
4. Can I combine the federal rebate with NSW rebates?
The NSW battery scheme is No Longer Available
5. Do I need solar panels already installed?
No. The rebate applies whether you are adding a battery to an existing solar system or installing a brand-new solar + battery package.
6. How do I claim the rebate?
The rebate is applied up-front as a discount on your Energy Culture quote/invoice. We handle all the paperwork with the Clean Energy Regulator for you.
7. Which batteries qualify?
